Seek Then Speak Introduction
Dr. Kim Lonsway of End Violence Against Women International will briefly describe Seek Then Speak, a new tool to assist survivors in reporting sexual assault. She will demonstrate the implementation process and how it can facilitate sexual assault reporting locally.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this brief introduction, students will be able to:
· Describe Seek Then Speak, an interactive online tool helping sexual assault survivors gather information and complete a self-guided investigative interview.
· Identify the motivations for law enforcement, victim advocacy, and other governmental agencies to adopt this new tool for use in the community.
· Explain how sexual assault survivors can use the new tool to begin the process of reporting to law enforcement by completing a self-guided interview.
· Consider how this new tool could increase access to reporting and supportive services for survivors in your community.
