Biography: Renee is a Certified Domestic Violence
Professional with a master’s is Social Work from Aurora University. Before joining Family Counseling Service, Renee worked with survivors of domestic and sexual violence for more than 10 years. This experience has provided Renee with insights into the consequences of intimate partner violence on mental health and how professionals can effectively support survivors. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and engaging in this important conversation.
Objectives: Participants will gain an understanding of the impacts of domestic violence on the survivor, domestic violence on families and communities. Participants will also gain the knowledge of the complex barriers survivors face when navigating systems and learn trauma informed strategies to use when working with survivors in a clinical setting.
