Training will be the same on both days, so you only need to attend 1 training day.
The 12th Judicial Family Violence Coordinating Council welcomes leading experts in law enforcement response to gender-based violence from Law Enforcement Training and Technical Assistance Consortium (LETTAC). Funded by the federal Office of Violence Against Women (OVW), presenters will provide in depth training on the following topics:
• Illinois Domestic Violence (750 ILCS 60/)
• Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986
• Domestic Violence Investigation Fundamentals
• Build a foundational understanding of the serious nature of domestic violence
• Map a pathway for effective investigations
• Understand the importance of trauma-informed investigations
• Effective report writing
• Officer-Involved Domestic Violence
• Officer Involved Domestic Violence Policy Development: Prevention, Education and Training, Early Warning and Intervention, Incident Response, Victim Safety, Post Incident Decisions
• Case Studies of Relevant Domestic Violence Incidents
Ideal for law enforcement, police social workers, advocates, prosecutors, medical professionals, mental health professionals, partner abuse intervention professionals, etc.
4.0 CEUs for Certified Domestic Violence/Partner Abuse Intervention Professionals provided by Guardian Angel Community Services (Free)
4.0 CEUs for LSW/LCSW, LPC/LCPC, and LMFT provided by Illinois Affiliation of Marriage and Family Therapists ($25)
