Training and Education Coordinator

Required Education/Experience:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services-related field preferred.
2. ICDVP certification or ability to take and pass exam for ICDVP.
3. Highly self-motivated, self-directed, sound judgment, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with professionals in the community.
5. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
6. Dedication to empowerment of survivors and children, as well as a commitment to and understanding of anti-oppression and social justice work.
7. Capacity to work effectively with others of diverse age, language, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious belief, mental/physical ability, and socioeconomic status.
8. Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
9. Availability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Preferred:
1.Supervisory experience
2. Previous completion of 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training at an ICDVP-approved site 3. Bilingual/bicultural
3. Experience supporting victims/survivors of domestic violence in a human-services agency setting and knowledge of domestic violence.

Job Requirements

Education & Training Program:
1. Develop, coordinate, and delivery trainings, webinars, and in-service events including the following:
• 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training: conduct CAWC’s 40-hour foundational training for new volunteers, staff and community service providers (goal of 3 per year).
• Social Justice Trainings: coordinate and facilitate anti-oppressional workshops and events that connect to community and public outreach initiatives.
• Staff In-service Trainings: professional development for domestic violence staff and programs in the community for ICDVP, counseling, and social work continuing education units (CEUs).
• Allied Professional Trainings: coordinate and facilitation professional trainings for healthcare providers, law enforcement officers, social service program, or other professionals who interact with survivors of abuse.

2.Schedule regular dates and presenters for each 40-hour training; ensures program training calendar is updated and available throughout the program year.
3. Ensure agency maintains training and CEU site certification with Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP).
4. Review and update 40-Hour Training Manual as needed.
5. Maintain electronic records of participant rosters, certificates issued, training evaluations, etc.

Community Outreach & Education:
1. Coordinate community requests for tablings, presentations and other community outreach focused on general domestic violence education or CAWC services. This includes a) recruiting the appropriate staff, volunteers and board members to fulfill such requests and b) providing guidance to staff regarding the appropriate materials to use for each educational event.
2. Maintain data for community and institutional services/outreach report; provide recommendations for outcomes and goals related to the report data.

Other:
1. Work with agency leadership to support vision, strategy, and program planning for agency’s education and outreach initiatives.
2. Develops and maintains effective, professional, and collaborative relationships with others in the community.
3. Stay current on DV-related trends, laws, policies to ensure training content is up-to-date and accurate.
4. Routinely provide some direct service to stay attuned to programs and clients.
5. Assist with data entry and reporting of service statistics as required by funders.
6. Other responsibilities as assigned
