DESCRIPTION:Seek Then Speak Introduction\nDr. Kim Lonsway of End Violence Against Women International will briefly describe Seek Then Speak\, a new tool to assist survivors in reporting sexual assault. She will demonstrate the implementation process and how it can facilitate sexual assault reporting locally.\nLearning Objectives:\nAt the end of this brief introduction\, students will be able to:\n· Describe Seek Then Speak\, an interactive online tool helping sexual assault survivors gather information and complete a self-guided investigative interview.\n· Identify the motivations for law enforcement\, victim advocacy\, and other governmental agencies to adopt this new tool for use in the community.\n· Explain how sexual assault survivors can use the new tool to begin the process of reporting to law enforcement by completing a self-guided interview.\n· Consider how this new tool could increase access to reporting and supportive services for survivors in your community.\nContinuing Education Units available for Certified Domestic Violence Professionals (CDVP) and Certified Partner Abuse Intervention Professionals (CPAIP)\n1.0 CEUs provided by Guardian Angel Community Services \nFree training \nClick below for training flyer: \n7.30.25-Lunch-and-Learn-Flier

SUMMARY:Exploring Immigrants' Mental Wellness Needs
DESCRIPTION:Research shows that migrants have higher rates of mental health\nneeds in comparison to general populations (NAMI\, 2019). This\nis often due to the traumatic experiences that they may have\nfaced before\, during\, and after migration. This presentation\nexamines migrants’ civil rights to be an active part of a society\nand economy without discrimination or oppression. It also\ndiscusses some common challenges that immigrants face when\nmigrating. As our mental health is intricately linked to various\nfactors\, such as physical health\, educational and/or occupational\nachievements\, and financial and economic participation\n(Bickenbach\, 2011)\, it is imperative that the various factors are\naddressed to care for migrants’ mental health needs. This\npresentation applies the eight ‘Wellness Dimensions’ of\nSwarbrick’s Wellness Model to migrants’ wellness to learn how to\nsupport their mental wellness needs better. \nVirtual training
